Uber Medical, a company which owns a proprietary dynamic image correction technology, wanted to help surgeons to develop a surgical video system for their tele-consultations and academic teachings. I mapped the product system architecture, designed the system’s experience and complete set of hardware devices. Other than the products, I defined the brand’s visual identity system.

Challenges

The Great Wall Group is a leading porcelain company which has five design teams in different regions working on 500+ projects per year. Each team had their own SOP and design standard, and it resulted in tremendous wasted of time on document making and transferring between departments, and it significantly affected the design qualities. As the company’s newly promoted design director, I was in charge of building a system to manage all the teams and projects.

#3.DR ASST P2P PRIMARY
CARE SERVICE (UX)

Ability highlights – User Research And Test / Unified Design / Self-Starting

This is a UX design project for a remote peer-to-peer primary care service. Patients use the app to contact with doctors and get prescriptions remotely. Qualified doctors can provide patients with immediate medical services and get extra income in spare time.

Challenge

  • It’s hard to design an easy, intuitive, and consistent user experience for a comprehensive medical service
  • It’s hard to let users know where they are all the time

#4.YIQI ELECTROTHERAPY
PRODUCT FAMILY (UX+ID)

The client YIQI Healthcare has a patented technology that utilize electrotherapy to treat lumbar, cervical spondylosis, frozen shoulder, knee joint disease, and soft tissue injury. They had made their own instruments and had been doing clinical trials for decades. Their goal was developing a new product family including household and commercial devices, improving and unifying user experience, and reshaping their brand image.

  • Design interface layouts based on complicated operational process
  • Design products from different user groups into one family

#5.JFTM COMMUNITY DRUG SERVICE SYSTEM (SERVICE)

People are more or less having problems with the misuse, waste, and expiration of drugs. JFTM ( Just For Taking Medicine ) is a service concept that provides patients end-to-end experience going through the complete life cycle of drugs – from purchasing to managing and recycling. For this design, I was granted an invention patent and an Honourable Mention award of Red Dot Award in Service Design category.

#6.REAL-WORLD LANGUAGE
LEARNING APP (UX)

Ability highlights – User Research And Test / Engineering Knowledge / Long-Term Iteration

In this educational project, I designed the Real-world Language Learning Flashcards for EU-inno. There are numerous apps for people to learn new languages, as a designer also a deep user, I found that all of those what I knew have two common problems. Firstly, the interfaces of the text-based educating apps do not conform to the brain’s memory mechanism, secondly, their built-in thesaurus cause users to learn lots of unwanted words. My goal was to create a cognitive and customizable vocabulary flashcard tool for practical language learning.
